The JFLA was established in 1996 by a group of lawyers with the express intention of improving the practice of family law in Jersey. It took as its role model the Solicitors' Family Law Association (now renamed Resolution) in the UK. Its core principles are established as
- the promotion of the sensitive, efficient and economic handling of family disputes
- the promotion and encouragement of effective conciliation and mediation procedures
- the promotion and encouragement of education and training in matters of Family Law and practice.
The aim of this website is to raise awareness of the JFLA and to assist anyone who wishes to understand more about family law in Jersey or who wishes to find a lawyer who can advise them.
